A Career Guidance Program was successfully organized by the District Administration, in collaboration with Kanyakumari Government Medical College & Hospital (KGMCH), Asaripallam, and the Department of Community Medicine at Scott Christian College, Nagercoil.
The event aimed to create awareness among higher secondary students about various career opportunities in the medical and paramedical fields.
-Tmt. R. Alagumeena, I.A.S., Collector of Kanyakumari District, delivered an address highlighting the opportunities available in various departments and emphasized the importance of education.
*Dr. V. Ramalakshmi, Dean of KGMCH, delivered an insightful address on the wide range of paramedical courses available and the financial assistance schemes accessible to aspiring students.
*Dr. Sudha, Head of the Department of Microbiology, introduced the students to the KGMCH campus, elaborating on the courses offered at the institution and those affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
A stall representing KGMCH was set up at the venue, where pamphlets were distributed to students and parents, providing detailed information about academic programs and opportunities.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 25 colleges across Kanyakumari and neighboring districts, and attracted an impressive turnout of approximately 1500 students.
